ANIMATE

Project description

The ANIMATE project (Additive maNufacturing Innovative MATerials for Energy applications) aims at developing new alumina forming High Entropy Alloys reinforced with L12 nanoprecipitation produced by Additive Manufacturing for nuclear energy applications. The development of structural material able to operate at high temperature under neutron flux, aims to solve the problem of high-temperature corrosion and radiation-induced degradation in Lead Fast Reactors. Four different pre-alloyed powders from the family CrFeMnNi+TiAl, will be mixed to perform a fast screening of a wide variety of compositions. High-throughput characterization techniques will be combined with irradiation experiments to analyse their microstructural stability. Machine Learning interatomic potentials will be supporting the experimental observations, helping to understand the nano-precipitation behaviour.
