CONNECT-NM’s Information Day recently took place online on 28 January, providing the optimum opportunity for the partnership to share key insights and detailed information on its Open Call for Projects.
This Open Call, officially launched on 20 January, directly aligns with CONNECT-NM’s central aim to pursue a paradigm shift in nuclear materials research, from ‘observe and qualify’ to ‘design and control.’
Successfully attended by 248 online participants, the Information Day undoubtedly showcased the high level of interest surrounding the Call. Furthermore, it served as a key platform to equip potential applicants with the essential details needed to prepare their proposals.
Notably, the Information Day featured introductory words from Dr. Mykola Džubinský from the Euratom unit of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, who highlighted the main principles guiding CONNECT-NM’s call for proposals, among other key topics.
Partnership Coordinator Lorenzo Malerba provided a comprehensive overview of CONNECT-NM, while CEA’s Marjorie Bertolus detailed the eligibility criteria, process overview, and guidance for this phase of applications.
Moreover, given that projects proposed in the call must be aligned with the specific objective of at least one of the five CONNECT-NM Research Lines (RL), participants also heard from the respective leaders of each RL, allowing for an in-depth understanding of what each topic entails in terms of scope and objectives, as well as expected results, outcome and impact.
Importantly, throughout the session, the organising team from CONNECT-NM addressed a series of participant questions, further boosting understanding and awareness related to all aspects of the Open Call procedure.
