The CONNECT-NM Young Researcher Network (YRN) is pleased to invite applications for its 2nd Young Researcher Network Workshop, taking place 30 September–2 October 2026 at Fraunhofer IZFP in Saarbrücken, Germany.

Established to strengthen connections between early-career researchers and the wider European nuclear materials community, the CONNECT-NM Young Researcher Network brings together PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, young professionals and other early-career scientists to exchange knowledge, expand their professional networks, and engage with experts from academia, industry, research organisations and technical support organisations.

The workshop will be held alongside the 3rd CONNECT-NM Plenary Meeting and the 2026 JPNM Days, offering participants a unique opportunity to connect with the broader European nuclear materials community.

Highlights of the programme include:

• Presentation of CONNECT-NM education and training activities
• Technical visit to the IZFP facilities
• Joint JPNM/CONNECT-NM workshop on research infrastructures
• Dedicated Young Researcher sessions featuring technical and professional development presentations
• Networking and community-building activities

• Social event: a cruise on the Saar River

Approximately 30 young researchers will be selected to participate.

Eligibility: Applications are open only to young researchers affiliated with a CONNECT-NM consortium member organisation. Please check the list of consortium members before submitting your application.
