INNUMAT – Advancing Nuclear Materials Development & Qualification
The EU‑funded INNUMAT project addresses key challenges in the development, testing, and qualification of innovative structural materials for nuclear fission and fusion applications. By combining accelerated materials development, advanced characterisation under extreme conditions, and qualification‑oriented methodologies, INNUMAT contributes directly to strengthening Europe’s materials research and innovation capacity.
These objectives strongly align with CONNECT‑NM’s mission to coordinate and support the European research community working on nuclear materials for energy systems. INNUMAT advances shared goals such as improved materials reliability, faster qualification pathways, and closer integration of research, industry, and standardisation.
The INNUMAT Final Symposium will take place from 15 to 17 June 2026 in Sandviken, Sweden. The project’s main scientific and technical outcomes will be presented and offers an excellent opportunity for exchange within the CONNECT‑NM network. Researchers, industry representatives, and stakeholders active in nuclear materials development are warmly invited to participate. For more information please follow the registration link.
