The first phase of CONNECT-NM’s Open Call for Projects, focused on Project Ideas, officially closed on Friday 21 March.
Receiving more than 50 Project Idea submissions, CONNECT-NM is glad to reflect on the success of this phase of the Call, undoubtedly showcasing rapidly growing interest in the partnership’s goal to pursue a paradigm shift in nuclear materials research, from ‘observe and qualify’ to ‘design and control’.
In structuring the Call, it was necessary for all the submitted Project Ideas to align with the objective of at least one of the following research lines:
- Knowledge and data management
- Advanced materials development and manufacturing
- Materials and component qualification: testing, standardisation and design rules
- Non-destructive examination and materials health monitoring
- Advanced materials modelling and characterisation
A summary of all the Project Ideas submitted to the Call can be found here, with the aim to foster new collaborations and allow interested parties with the necessary expertise to connect with proposers.
Moving forward, Project Idea proposers will now have the opportunity to present their respective ideas at CONNECT-NM’s upcoming Brokerage Event on 10 April, taking place in hybrid format in Brussels and online. The purpose of the event is to once again facilitate matchmaking in order to establish more synergies within the partnership going forward.
Register for the Brokerage Event here.
The second phase of the Call for official Project Proposals will open on 28 April.
