CONNECT-NM partnership presented in the 22nd International Conference on Fusion Reactor Materials

From 28 August to 3 September 2025, in Shizuoka, Japan, the 22nd edition of the International Conference on Fusion Reactor Materials (ICFRM) gathered leading scientists, engineers, and research institutions from around the world to discuss the latest advancements in materials science for nuclear fusion applications.

ICFRM is the major international conference and the leading platform for experts studying, developing, and characterizing materials for fusion energy technologies. This biennial event focuses on structural, functional, plasma-facing, and high-heat-flux materials, including irradiation effects, materials engineering and technologies, and cutting-edge research.

During the conference, Marta Serrano, Senior Researcher at CIEMAT (Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas), delivered a plenary talk on behalf of Lorenzo Malerba, highlighting the progress and objectives of the CONNECT-NM partnership and showing how CONNECT-NM activities can also be of interest to the nuclear fusion materials community.
